Hilary was known as my “Racing Mum”. A reference first coined nearly 20 years ago when she and Jason were kind enough to take me to Holland to race in my first RC Car Racing European Championships. On that trip we were waved straight through customs at the ferry port because, as both Hilary & Jason suggested, “we look like a family going on holiday”. Of course the funniest moment on that trip came when Hilary heard “a rattling noise” in the car. You thought it was something in the glovebox, when in fact Hilary was fully aware that it was me snoring in the back! These memories and countless more will live with me forever and I’m grateful to have made them with you and the rest of “Doris International Racing Team”. Hilary was a sharp, witty and caring friend who did so much to help others. In lots of ways she was like a mother to many of us. Rest in Peace, racing Mum.
